I recently read Karsten Harries' The Ethical Function of Architecture, which follows Sigfried Giedion in arguing that the main task for architecture today is the interpretation of a way of life valid for our time. Might his ethical thinking about nature and geometry also help to rethink the commercially-driven fascination in formal geometric production that continues to dominate the discipline (trends which still operate on the basis of understanding geometry as an abstract disembodied set of functions)?
